Story has it that when Ian Gillan first joined Black Sabbath they were practicing in England next to a church. The priest there constantly complained to them about how loud their music was. As a result, they wrote this song.

nope its a true story, they resolved the problems by making sure that they wouldn't play during the time the priest was doing quire practice - tony iimmi and the priest had a drink together and came to that resolution

nope, true story. Priest came to ask them if they could work something out because choir practices on tues and thurs and they couldnt find their pitch with the music so loud

Voicecolors It is not the vocals on itself, but the attitude behind it. Be it clean singing like this one, be extreme harsh vocals like 'In the Moonshine' by Moonblood.

Remember, Ian also played, i believe as Jesus, in Jesus Christ Superstar. But isnt a christian as far as i know. Good voice.
The recorded album LP, uuuhm vinyl. The Good old days. At least when it comes to music. The casette tapes? Good riddance to those.
